Patient Advice

We have put together information about some common foot and ankle problems, in the form of answers to common questions. These represent typical views on the topics among British foot and ankle surgeons. However, surgery is complex and evolving. Many answers are not known for certain and legitimate shades of opinion exist. Hence, not all surgeons will agree with all the advice given and you should discuss your concerns with your own surgeon as well.

The British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society will not enter into individual correspondence on your foot and ankle problem. If you wish personal advice you should contact your general practitioner in the first instance.
