Day Case Foot and Ankle Surgery Virtual Event

Tuesday, 8th November 2022

A Joint British Association of Day Surgery & HCUK Virtual Conference

As we enter the recovery phase following the huge disruption caused by Covid-19 the number of patients waiting for orthopaedic surgery remains at record levels with 730,000 on the waiting list in March 2022, the largest number for over a decade. In response to the Governments Elective Recovery Plan, it is clear we must work differently to respond to these unprecedented waits. With continued pressure on in-patient beds, Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery presents an ideal opportunity to explore and expand the possibilities to increase day surgery activity.

Increasing the delivery of day case across the NHS is achievable and it is important to share learning so that day case becomes the normal in units across the UK. This one day virtual conference will discuss the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on foot and ankle surgery. It will highlight key aspects of the day surgery pathway, the importance of the multidisciplinary team, regional anaesthesia and using data in delivering successful day case foot and ankle surgery.

This conference will enable you to:

Network with colleagues who are working to improve day surgery orthopaedic services; Learn from outstanding practice in day case foot and ankle surgery; Reflect on national developments and learning; Understand how you can improve your day surgery pathways; Identify key strategies for implementation of foot and ankle day case surgery; Ensure you are up to date with the latest national practice; Self assess and reflect on your own practice; Supports CPD professional development and acts as revalidation evidence.

This course provides 5 Hrs training for CPD subject to peer group approval for revalidation purposes
